I am currently a part-time lecturer on the highly successful Art & Design Foundation course at Arts University Bournemouth. In addition to this, I lead Spud Youth Architecture, various young artists’ clubs, and have been teaching in local educational institutions for over 10 years. I firmly believe that being a practising artist not only enhances my own work but also enriches my role as an art educator, and vice versa. This ongoing passion for both creating and teaching inspired me to start Creative Printmaking when I had the opportunity to join the vibrant artist community at Spudworks in Sway, New Forest. The creative environment there is incredibly inspiring, and it’s such a rewarding space to spend time working and sharing ideas.
Creativity is essential for people of all ages as it nurtures cognitive development, emotional expression, and personal growth. For children, it enhances problem-solving, critical thinking, and social skills, while also providing an outlet for emotional expression and boosting self-confidence. For adults, creativity fosters innovation, adaptability, and mental well-being, offering a way to manage stress and maintain a sense of identity. It encourages lifelong learning, strengthens social connections, and allows individuals to express themselves in unique ways. Whether through art, music, writing, or other forms of expression, creativity enriches our lives, promotes happiness, and helps us connect with others, making it an invaluable part of the human experience at every stage of life.
If you have any questions or would like to know more, please feel free to get in touch. I look forward to seeing you on one of the workshops very soon!
